This Privacy Policy explains how ThetaTracker Pro (“ThetaTracker Pro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our options-trading journal and related services (the “Service”) at thetatrackerpro.com. ThetaTracker Pro is operated from Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. Passwords are handled and stored by our authentication provider using industry-standard hashing; we do not store your password in plain text.
With your explicit authorization, we connect to your brokerage account on a read-only basis, either through our third-party aggregation provider (SnapTrade) or, for tastytrade accounts, through a direct connection with tastytrade itself. Through this connection we receive information such as your account balances, positions, and transaction history. We use this data to populate and maintain your trading journal.
We never see or store your brokerage login credentials. You enter your brokerage username and password directly with your broker — through SnapTrade's secure connection portal, or on tastytrade's own sign-in page for a direct tastytrade connection — not with us. In both cases we receive only a limited access token that permits read-only data retrieval, and that token is stored in encrypted form.
Direct tastytrade connection. If you connect a tastytrade account directly, the authorization we request is limited to read access. We cannot place, modify, or cancel trades, and we cannot move funds. The resulting access token is encrypted before storage and is tied to your account alone.
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, your payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe under their security standards. We do not store your full card number; we retain only limited billing records (such as subscription status and the customer identifier Stripe provides) needed to manage your subscription.
Your trading journal — positions, transaction history, department routing, ledgers, and any notes you write — is created and held in your own browser. If you are signed in, a copy is also stored in our database so that your journal survives a cleared cache and can follow you between devices. That copy contains the same trading information the Service displays to you. It does not contain your brokerage login credentials, and account numbers are de-identified before storage: the Service converts a brokerage account number into a one-way token, so the raw number is not written to our database.
At sign-up we ask which channel brought you to the Service, with an optional field for the specific source. We use this only to understand which of our own efforts are working. It is not shared with the channel in question, and it is not used for advertising.
We may collect basic technical information necessary to operate and secure the Service, such as log data associated with requests. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If we introduce analytics, email/communication, or similar tools in the future, we will update this Policy and disclose those providers before or at the time of use.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your brokerage data for advertising.
We take the security of your financial data seriously and apply layered safeguards:
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information using reasonable and appropriate measures.
We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service. Each processes data only as needed to provide their function:
These providers maintain their own privacy and security practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of SnapTrade, tastytrade and Stripe for details on their handling of your information.
We share your information only in these limited circumstances: with the service providers listed above to operate the Service; when required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, or property of ThetaTracker Pro or others; or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), in which case we will notify you. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may disconnect any brokerage connection at any time, which revokes our read-only access and deletes the stored access token for that connection.
You may delete your account and its data at any time from within the Service, or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your stored journal copy, your account record, and every stored brokerage access token; where a broker supports it, we also revoke the token with the broker rather than only deleting our copy. Deletion is permanent and we cannot recover the data afterward, so export a backup first if you want to keep it. We may retain limited billing records where we are required to for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
Your journal also exists in your own browser's local storage. Deleting your account removes our copy; to clear the local one, use your browser's "clear site data" control for this site.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent for certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. You can disconnect any brokerage connection at any time from within the Service.
We use only the cookies and similar technologies necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service securely. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this Policy.
The Service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact us at bob@thetatrackerpro.com.
